Daily car insurance is temporary cover for one or more days shown in your policy. It may suit a short visit or several days using a borrowed car. The policy runs between its stated dates and times; it does not pause automatically on days when you leave the car parked.
The price shown in your quote is for the driver, vehicle and period you select. Compare the options available for the time you need, including any excess and optional extras.
Temporary insurance may suit occasional use; an annual policy may be better value if you drive the vehicle regularly.
Have the vehicle registration and the driver’s details ready. Choose when you need cover, then review the price, eligibility and policy terms before buying.
Choose exactly how long you need, from one hour to 28 days. No need to pay for time you won't use.
Daily car insurance from Daycover covers you, your passengers, the car you're driving, and any third-party damage or injury.

Plan cover for a visit, a shared journey or temporary access to a family car. Check the car and driver are eligible and that any existing-insurance requirement is met. Campervans need the appropriate product rather than an assumption that ordinary car cover applies.
Choose enough time for the whole journey, including the return trip. Check the quoted start and end times rather than relying on a label such as ‘daily’ or ‘monthly’. If your plans change, make sure valid cover is in place before continuing to drive.
Yes. A daily policy can run for a single day or for several consecutive days – you choose the duration. For a single defined occasion, one day car insurance is a natural fit. For a precise 24-hour window that may cross midnight, 24 hour car insurance is available.
DayCover’s published Terms of Business say temporary policies cannot be extended and do not renew automatically. If you need more time, request a new quote before the existing policy ends. A new policy is subject to acceptance; check its start time to avoid a gap.
Daily, one-day and 24-hour descriptions can refer to overlapping periods of temporary cover. The dates and times in your quote determine the actual duration; the page label does not create a different level of protection.
Taking out your own daily policy means any claim is handled entirely through your policy, not the car owner's. Their no-claims record and annual premium are unaffected. Cover ends precisely when your selected period is up.
